me..

In 1989 I met a man who was a cook and a poet. He showed me words in written form, musical form and, most interesting to me, translated through film. I came to call this man Dad. In the same year, I met a young woman who desired to live like a Gypsy but did not possess the appropriate vehicle, but that did not deter her; all she needed was a Stevie Nicks cassette tape and a car. I should add that this lady was always involved in a course of some sort, be it performing arts, juggling, candle or computer making. Her name was Mum.
Most years consisted of a new letterbox, new environments, new acquaintances, new ideas, usually the same dorky shoes, but ALWAYS CREATIVITY. Especially when visiting another woman they call Mum's mum, aka Grandma. Grandma was and is a master weaver of the Maori variety, an artist of many forms, most recently in the shape of doll making.
I imagine it is no secret that I am suggesting I have pulled my creativity from films, travel, meeting new people and having new experiences, and, since a young lad surrounded by creative people, getting involved in any creative Endeavour I could get my little Kiwi hands on.
Many years and a new country away, I found myself in a great job in a preschool. Some of the three-year-olds and I were painting the windows with their favourite characters of the month (Where the Wild Things Are) when one of the children's dads complimented me on what I had managed to create with the tools available (toddler-level paint set). This dad is an illustrator. This blew my mind that this was a real thing, a real job. This other person's dad became a mentor. Off to design school I went.
Now, let's fast forward 12 years. ► ►
Today, I'm a Brand Identity designer and multidisciplinary graphic designer. With experience in print, packaging, digital, illustration and motion, I help brands tell their story through clear strategy, refined systems, and distinctive visuals that actually mean something.
I've worked both in-house and independently across sectors like beauty, retail, hospitality, non-profit and merchandising, managing projects end-to-end from concept to rollout. Whether I'm building a logo from scratch, developing a visual language, or designing branded content across print and social, my focus is always on cohesion, clarity, and creativity that connects.
Shaped by a lifetime of creative influence, my practice today is driven by curiosity, consistency, and craft. I'm always looking to collaborate on thoughtful, design-led projects with brands ready to stand out.
